Wikipedia

  1. at-bat

In baseball, an at bat (AB) or time at bat is a batter's turn batting against a pitcher. An at bat is different from a plate appearance. A batter is credited with a plate appearance regardless of what happens during their turn at bat, but a batter is credited with an at bat only if that plate appearance does not have one of the results enumerated below. While at bats are used to calculate certain statistics, including batting average and slugging percentage, a player can qualify for the season-ending rankings in these categories only if they accumulate 502 plate appearances during the season.

  1. at-bat

In baseball, an at-bat is a player's turn at batting against the pitcher. It begins when the batter steps into the batter's box and officially ends when the player hits a fair ball, strikes out, is declared out for any reason during his turn other than interference or obstruction, or is replaced by another batter before his turn is completed. Walks, hit by pitches, and sacrifices does not count as an at-bat. The measure of at-bats is used to calculate various statistics including batting average and slugging percentage.

Once they walked north, they were out in a real desert area, the little girls started during poorly right off the bat.

  2. Alex Verdugo:

Off the bat, I knew I hit it well, but the ball just kept carrying, i was fortunate enough to get it over the fence. The thought process behind that at-bat was the at-bat before I chased an offspeed pitch and hit it weakly to first base. My goal was just basically let the ball get deep, let it travel and try to stay up the middle as best I could.

  3. Shohei Ohtani:

Ideally, I would have liked to finish that inning off, but they have a really good lineup, and they were fighting each at-bat and getting my pitch count up.

  5. Seth Rogen:

If someone's trying to murder someone with a baseball bat and someone's yelling at that person to stop, is that a feud between the baseball bat wielder and the person yelling at the baseball bat wilder? Feud implies two people hitting each other with baseball bats. Ted Cruz is a fascist. He denies the reality of the election. His words caused people to die and I'm making jokes about it. Is that a feud? I don't know. To me, it doesn't seem like a feud. To me, it seems I'm pointing out the fact that he's a terrible man whose words have resulted in death.
